The Whiteshields are an order of paladins across Leurut, strong believers in the Writ of Ahm chosen and trained by Resotania's Ecclessiarchy.

Any youth between 16 and 22 could be chosen by Ahm working through a Bishop, Priest or Voice to become one of their fated soldiers - generally Humans, sometimes other species, but always within the Resolute Kingdoms. These selected heroes are outfitted by their local community and taken to Resotania for years of study, training and monastic devotion.

Whiteshields are seen throughout the Realm most often defending the common folk from magical threats and wild beasts. Bishops call them in to help with rising threats, or have some stationed in the region to respond to issues as needed. Being well trained in religion and as pious as the Bishops themselves, they are often looked to for guidance and rites. They are often involved in rituals such as marriage, and many nobles will seek to have a Whiteshield sworn to them through various means to shore up their own legitimacy, such as sponsoring the equipment of a youth before they leave the community.

However, while the Whiteshield's are guided by Ahm's teachings and the light of the Golden Pantheon, their orders come directly from the Sept, leaving many to believe they are simply tools of Resotanian imperialism.

There are generally five “ranks” of Whiteshield, indicating both experience and supernatural power: Squire, Knight, Liege-Knight, Liege-Guard, and Mantleguard.
