The Second Age is the current era of Leurut. According to most, it started with a monumental but long-forgotten geological event that wreaked havoc across the continent's face, rapidly changing its shape and geography - while the more theological name its start as the point that Rozmajin abandoned his heaven to the Companions and started to walk Kona's earth directly.

The time before the Second Age is shrouded in mystery and darkness, with little known concretely of it. Much of what survives is legend and myth almost certainly far removed from the fact - a mythos that Resotania and Iyator frequently tap into. These two kingdoms somehow stem from before the start of the Second Age, and frequently use such stories to enhance their own legitimacy.

In the Writ of Ahm, the Book of the Petal is set at the dawn of the Second Age, and is the only written work even approaching a historical account of many of the early centuries. As humanity picked itself out from the rubble, the Elves, Dwarves and Goblinoids fought for centuries over new empires - with Humanity becoming a dominant power across Leurut after almost 1300 years.
