The University of Hollowsmere, despite the focused name, is a kingdom of the Resolute Kingdoms.

In its past, it was an independent college of magical study that sought patronage from many neighbouring kingdoms. It had a reputation for responsible magical use and in-depth knowledge in many precise themes: then and now, they are usually considered the true inheritors of Prophet Yroþ van Døschri's legacy.

After the Arcaniconflict, Hollowsmere was granted its own national emblem, elevating it amongst the other Resolutes. Empowered to maintain its own army and find its own security, it massively expanded its size and student body, and brought the neighbouring towns and villages under control too.

Most notably, the responsibility for enforcing the Arcanigreement was invested in Hollowsmere. The mysterious Iris Order is administrated from Hollowsmere, preventing the most extreme uses of magic. So far, thanks to the iron will of the wise and aged leader Grand Arcana Vetius, this extraordinarily large remit has not been abused. Many graduates of Hollowsmere's practical magic courses find themselves immediately with offers to join the Iris Order.

Students of Hollowsmere are respected as mages across all of Leurut, and are now permitted to work in their home countries. Their omnipresence is perhaps why they endure an unusually negative opinion: their power and reach is feared, and their partying students are disliked.
