Tieflings are a humanoid species on Leurut. While Tieflings are born to fully Tiefling parents, they also intermittently are born to Human parents, which is sometimes interpreted as a curse. The Writ holds that Tieflings are the result of a curse placed by Azun on Humans. Whatever their origin, all know that they hold some amount of infernal ancestry and blood within them.

While there is little direct discrimination, being associated with the ultimate evil of the realms still leaves many Tieflings feeling apart. The Knights of the Ember Shield are a Tiefling organisation dedicated to repenting for their unknown crime by fighting and capturing fiends, demons and devils.
