Dwarves are a humanoid species in Leurut, and the favoured of the Silver Smith and Thain. They have a reputation for dwelling in mountain holds called Stroms, the nuclei of their kingdoms that stretch above and below the ground. Dwarven craftsmanship, in stone and metal, is legendary across all of Kona.

The physiology of Dwarves is more dynamic than thought by many. While not as shape-shifting as Elves, Dwarves undergo significant physical changes when living on the surface or underground for great lengths of time. Most Dwarves are connected to Amiltremar, a religion and philosophy that allows all Dwarves to understand each other and Ahm's plan in ways no other species can hope to. Dwarves cut off from Amiltremar, from magical shock or psychological doubt, become Duergar: they are uncomfortable socialising with other Dwarves, and their skin turns purple-tinged and metallic.
