Iol the Light-bearer, is a member of the Obsidian Pantheon, and was one of the Twelve Gods. A charming and devilish duellist and figure of classic guile, she is a sword-fighter of wit and whet blade, delighting in using an opponent's strengths or environment against them.

She created the Orcs to be a contest to all other creatures to have to overcome, and delights in the hardships found at sea. Always taking on the role of Devil's Advocate, she is as likely to be ally as enemy from one moment to the next. All sudden insights, whether in science or art, come from her and her ever-lit lantern.
